The messages in this series could not be more important. The level of expectation and pressure to “keep up,” “buck up,” “measure up,” and “build up” have always been high. And now as we ease back into a hopefully-post-ish-pandemic world, the exhaustion is real but the expectations are again creeping up, nudging us toward some vision of a “good life” defined by society that isn’t always realistic or even possible.

So what is a “good enough” attitude towards life and faith? As someone who has perfectionistic tendencies and high expectations of myself, I am challenged by this idea that I’m not only missing out on some joy and delight that exists right now in my life rather than when XYZ have come to pass, but I might also be missing out on a deeper experience of my faith by slipping into thinking that even God expects me to earn love through productivity. I know, I know. Grace! In theory I get it. I don’t have to earn God’s love. But do I live in the freedom of that belief? Really?? Join in this experiencing God's love and grace this Lenten season at Community of Faith.
